What Baker Family Ministries believes about healing

We believe that the same faith that brings us salvation, brings us healing.

We believe that the same healing authority that Jesus (Yeshua) had is available for us today, the gifts of the Spirit have not passed away.

Jesus sent the twelve disciples out in Matthew 10:7-8 with this admonition, “And as you go, preach, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is at hand.  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons.  Freely you have received, freely give.”

Jesus sent the disciples out in the great commission of Matthew 28:18-20 saying “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.”

Jesus appeared to the disciples after His death and resurrection and Mark records the commission to them in Mark 16:15-18 “And He said to them, “go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.  And these signs will follow those who believe, In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover”.

The Gospel of Luke tells us that when John was in jail he sent his disciples to see Jesus to ask Him if He is the Messiah. Jesus tells them in Luke 7:22 “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard; that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them.”

Jesus ministered over 35 miracles during His earthly reign and left all believers in Him with the admonition to do the same and even greater things in His name.  John 14:12 -14 says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.  And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”

Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection was to not only bring salvation to man but to bring healing for his body, soul and spirit in the atonement.  By His stripes we are healed.  It is done!

Hebrews 12:12-13 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.  Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
