Statement of Faith |
|
|
- We believe that there is one God, the LORD God and that He is one as is noted in Deuteronomy 6:5.
- We believe the Bible, Jewish and Christian, chronicles the life and times of the Son of God. Jesus said in John 5:37, “...you have neither heard His (Father’s) voice at any time nor seen His (Father’s) form.
- The LORD God of the Hebrews said of Moses, “I (LORD or YHWH) speak with him (Moses) face to face...and he (Moses) sees the form of the LORD (YHWH). Numbers 12:8
- Moses, Man of God, prophet of the LORD (YHWH), declares in Exodus 15:2, “The LORD (YHWH) is my strength and song and He (YHWH) has become my salvation (Yeshuah).
- Moses, Man of God, prophet of the LORD (YHWH), declares in Numbers 13:16, “ called Hosea, son of Nun, Joshua (Yehoshua...YHWH is salvation or Jehovah is salvation). See Strong’s word #H3091
- The Angel of the LORD tells Mary in Luke 1:31, “you shall call His name Jesus (Jehovah is salvation or YHWH is salvation).” See Strong’s word #G2424
- The Angel of the LORD appears to Joseph in a dream saying to him, “you shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21
- Isaiah declares, “The LORD (YHWH) is judge. The LORD (YHWH) is lawgiver. The LORD (YHWH) is king. And He (LORD/YHWH) shall save His people.” Isaiah 33:22
- Matthew 3:3 declares of John the Baptist, that he (John) is the “voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the LORD . . . YHWH . . . make straight His path.” Isaiah 40:3
- Paul declares in Romans 10:9, “. . . if you confess with your mouth the LORD (kurios . . . Greek for YHWH) Jesus and believe in your heart that God (Father) has raised Him from the dead , you will be saved.” Isaiah 45:23
- Paul declares quoting Joel 2:32, “who ever calls on the name of the LORD (YHWH) shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
- Paul declares quoting Isaiah 45, especially 21-23, “there is no other God besides Me, a just God and a Savior. There is none besides Me. Look to Me and be saved . . . that to Me (LORD/YHWH) every knee shall bow and every tongue shall take an oath . . .”
- Paul declares in Philippians 2:9-11, “Therefore, God (Father) has highly exalted Him (Jesus or Jehovah is salvation) and given Him (Jesus or Jehovah is salvation) the name that is above all names ...that at the name of Jesus (Jehovah is salvation) every knee will bow, every tongue confess that Jesus (Jehovah is salvation) Christ is LORD (kurios in Greek or YHWH in Hebrew) to the glory of the Father.
- Jesus tells Satan in Matthew 4:7, “you shall not tempt the LORD (kurios or YHWH) your God.”
- In the Book of Job, it is declared, “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD (YHWH) and Satan came also.” Satan knew what the LORD Jesus looked like.
“Let us make man in our image.” Genesis 1:26
- Thomas says of Jesus, “My LORD and My God . . . My kurios and my theos . . . My Yahweh and my Elohim.” John 20:28
- Matthew declares in regards to the transfiguration, “This is My beloved Son in whom I AM well pleased . . . Hear Him.”, Matthew 17:5. Isaiah 33:22 declares, “The LORD (YHWH) is lawgiver.”
It is written of Elijah, “ . . . after the fire, small still voice. So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle.” 1 Kings 19:12-13. Yet John 5:37 declares, “You have neither heard His (Father’s) voice at any time nor seen His (Father’s) form . . .” Who did Elijah hear? Who did Moses see and hear? They heard or saw the Son of God, YHWH . . . Yahweh.
- Luke declares, “Lord (kurios . . . YHWH) will you now restore the Kingdom to Israel?” Acts 1:6
- Luke declares of the angels, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into the heaven? This same Jesus will so come in a like manner. Yet, Luke declared, in his gospel, 23:38, in Greek, Latin and Hebrew, “This is the King of the Jews.” Isaiah 33:22 declares, “The LORD (YHWH) is King . . .”
- Paul teaches us that, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, there is neither male nor female, there is neither slave nor free for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28. Paul also declares, “ as many that walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them and the Israel of God.” Galatians 6:16. We believe that the “Israel of God” is a prophetic picture of the “cultivated olive tree” of Romans 11. Ezekiel 47:21-23 also “calls forth” the destiny of the true church that Jesus Himself declared will suffer violence, be taken by violent men and the gates of hell will not prevail against it, Matthew 11:12, 16:18. We in no way support the heresies of “replacement theology” or “dual covenant theology.” Ephesians 4:1-6 is a summary picture of the “elect” or “called out” of the LORD God of the Hebrews. Moses clearly prophesies that there will be one people and one law for that people, Exodus 12:49, Leviticus 24:22, Numbers 15.
- We believe in water baptism according to Mark 16:16, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved.” We were raised Roman Catholic and understand the concept of infant baptism. We don’t find support for it in the Bible. Infant dedication is not baptism. Faith requires belief, which must come as an act of one’s own free will.
- We do not believe in baptizing in the name of Jesus Christ after Acts 2:38. Jewish custom of the day dictated one being baptized in the name of one’s rabbi. Peter was declaring the fulfillment of Isaiah 54:13, “All your children shall be taught by the LORD (YHWH).”
- This why Jesus said in Matthew 23:10, “And do not be called teacher (rabbi) for One is your teacher (rabbi), the Christ.” Jesus had declared Himself to be LORD (YHWH) and was declaring that the LORD (YHWH) had come to save . . . therefore, His name must be Jesus or Yeshua.
- We believe in the triune nature of the LORD God . . . YHWH Elohim. The LORD (YHWH) is called “Father” by Moses but Jesus is clear that “Father” is never seen or heard in the “Old Testament.” Yet, Moses prophesies, “The LORD (YHWH) has become my (personal) salvation (Yeshuah). Jesus says He has come in the Father’s name. Since Father’s name is YHWH, the Son’s name must be YHWH. In the context of the first century, it could be said, YHWH ben YHWH, similar to Simon ben Jonah or Simon bar Jonah. But since the Son has come to save, His name must be Jesus or Yeshua or Yehoshua. They all mean, “YHWH or Jehovah saves”. This revelation is why the men of Acts 2 were “cut to the heart”. They realized that the LORD, God of the Hebrews had come to be their Savior just as prophesied. So His name reflected what He had come to do. If He had come to judge, His name would have been Jehoshaphat . . . Jehovah is judge or Yehoshaphat . . . YHWH is judge. This is why Jesus says in John 12 that He did not come to judge . . . He came to save! Hosea declares in 2:16, of the LORD (YHWH), “No longer will you call me ‘My husband’, but ‘My Man’.” How can the bride of Messiah, the bride of Christ marry the Father? So, YHWH son of YHWH becomes flesh to save as Yeshua son of YHWH. Said another way, Jehovah son of Jehovah becomes flesh to save as Jesus son of Jehovah. Holy Spirit is clearly referred to as the Spirit of the LORD (YHWH or Jehovah) in the “Old Testament”. The challenge is to find the Son in the “Old Testament.” “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter. It is the glory of the king to search out a matter,” Proverbs 25:2. So now, give this glory back to Him. Cast your crown at His feet. He has earned it.
